It was a great first experience to the nature of the modern IT work place.During the term I was introduced to Python and the Django framework, as well as attending regular scrum meetings alongside the Saltwire dev team.   For my graduating semester's workterm I was fortunate enough to be accepted to IBM's 2020 code challenge program. I was part of the team Deep Blue, and it was an amazing experience in remote work amid modern challenges. It included lectures and demonstrations conveying the importance of best practices, as well as abundant learning opportunities under the mentors who volunteered to guide us along our learning path. My team created an application in Ionic/React that utilized IBM's Watson to provide assistance to users in disaster scenarios as well as offer potentially life-saving first aid and survival information in a variety of emergency.
