  Lokniketan Vinay Mandir is a non-profit organization and is located in rural areas, PALANPUR block of BANAS KANTHA district of Gujarat. Lokniketan Trust provides free or minimal cost education and living environment for a few thousand needy and poor children at a number of centers in Gujarat, India since 1961. A moral living environment is nurtured for students from a very young age through their college education. Lokniketan has students from kindergarten up through various colleges which offer accredited Bachelor Degrees in Rural Sciences and Education as well as Master Degrees in Social Works. Most of the children here study at the nominal token expense or free.We were split into groups and work with the team the entire 20 days of stay at our rural stay at Lokniketan trust, Ratanpur. We were engaged in strategic mapping and planning of the village, the modus operandi was interviews, by the aid of which interventions were formulated for the social uplifting of the people in that area. We had a daily system of gathering data from the village personnel, creating reports and presenting it to the coordinators and the class. I had the chance to talk to the locals and connect with them in various areas that they face in their daily routine.
