      I was awarded a scholarship worth £2,000 in order to attend this course. I gained a personal licence under the Animal (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 in April 2013 after undertaking a home office training course. This enabled me to pursue this course and improve my theoretical and practical scientific knowledge. The course involved hands-on experience of various in vivo/ex vivo scientific techniques in rodents, including: - Disease assessment in EAE (multiple sclerosis) mouse models and arthritis mouse models - Dissecting mice with gastrointestinal nematode infections (including trichuris muris) to assess worm burden and inflammation - Gaining knowledge on confocal microscopy, FACS and luciferase tagging Show less
