      Production Manager

I arrived as an Exec and became a Manager shortly after. A full service agency in the true sense of the word, lots of print, lots of ads, an enormous amount of direct mail and of course lot of entriesinto awards ceremonies which sometimes bore fruit, oh and lots of tantrums; they didn't tell me at ad school I would need to have social work skills, but of course I've been using these skills to good effect in the workplace ever since.

      Production Manger

I loved it here, I really did. This funky little agency took on the big boys from London and gave them a kick up the proverbial. Wining big contracts from the likes of the BBC and Marks and Spencer put us on the map and was thrilling for me in a newly created role which proved to be a wonderful opportunity upon which to craft my trade. Aside from my first love of print, I masterminded award winning multimedia projects, trafficked all jobs through an ever expandingstudio and one particular day I doodled something which went on to be designed and sold in design stores UK and Europe wide. Why leave? Because New Zealand was calling me! Show less

    • Ogilvy & Mather New Zealand

      Mar 2006 - Feb 2012
      Production Manager

Initially responsible for retail mailers, and buying a bucket load of webprint in the process, I moved into brand, and worked across a number of high profile clients including BP, IBM, Sanitarium whilst still making sure that retail clients such as Briscoes, Rebel and Carpet Court continued to prosper with the POS, instore and mailer activities that I managed.Digital, litho, small format, much bigger format and really big format along with a decent chunk of Direct Mail kept me more than busy and stimulated. Then the main focus of my work was bedding down all production work for the newly formed Auckland Council and ATEED and making sure that Auckland looked stunning and ready ahead of Rugby World Cup 2011. Internal Account Manager

So after many years working agency side I thought I’d jump the fence and give the corporate world a go. At Telecom, I worked in their in house studio as an internal account manager / production manager / print purveyor / traffic manager / digital marketer and all rounder. I liked the meaty budgets and being an important part of a quite frankly enormous machine. Alas Telecom restructured, the studio closed down and I jumped at the opportunity to become a freelancer.

      Freelance Project Manager

I took the plunge in 2013 and went freelance and thankfully did not have a day without work. During this period I worked at Ogilvy, .99 and SKYCITY and really loved the variety that came from working in a variety of workplaces. Ogilvy I knew well having worked there previously, mostly retail side. On this stint though I worked primarily brand side servicing the Pernod Ricard account. At .99 I looked after 2 of their new accounts; Genesis Energy and Tower Insurance and worked hard in bedding down the new relationship between agency and client. When that was working well, I jumped on board the Warehouse Stationery account to weave some magic there. I also had a stint working at SKYCITY buying their print and working as an internal account manager. Show less

      Jan 2017 - now
      Communications Manager

      - Managed a diverse portfolio of clients and looked after their varied communications needs. - Project managed memorable marketing campaigns.- Increased the presence of clients via social media channels and through targeted, bespoke content. - Co-ordinated marketing activity throughout New Zealand.- Worked with, and for, a host of Regional, District and City Councils and numerous private enterprises.Highlights include:Wellington City Council internal / external Comms- Responsible for the collation, planning, writing and integration of 150+ Comms & Engagement plans. By using the full Comms toolkit at my disposal, I managed to get these richly diverse projects over the line. All achieved by getting stakeholder and community buy-in from the earliest point in the process. Bay of Plenty Regional Council Website re-design and launch (Project Manager)- In 2017 the Council’s website was languishing in the bottom quartile of ALGIM’s local government rankings. The site had issues with accessibility, content structure, and a lack of customer interaction points. In April 2018 I was engaged to help fix the problem. The goal was to improve the customer experience to the point where boprc.govt.nz would hit the top 10. Acting as the conduit between BOPRC managers, content providers, writers, photographers, designers, website developers, and the wider Comms team, I project managed the whole process. The result was an award winning modern, customer focused website with a renewed emphasis on getting things done online. At The ALGIM Spring Conference of 2019, BOPRC won the ‘Most Improved’ and the ‘Supreme website’ awards, putting it at #1 in the national rankings. Show less
