  At NIG my role was versatile and i expanded my knowledge and skill set into various different areas.Predominantly I was a new business underwriter specific to commercial lines - SME business. I was a member of the open market team which was specifically focused on open market trading with our wide network of brokers and facilitating new lead generation.The underwriting varied from open market presentations each requiring individual underwriting to e-trade and referral based work. During my time at NIG I was involved in a number of large portfolio analyses and deal propositions enabling me to expand my knowledge and underwriting from individual bespoke risks to larger portfolios encompassing a variety of risks with varying quality and risk features.Whilst at NIG I also expanded my skill set to include relationship management which was built up and strengthened from repeated involvement in new deals and negotiations. Being responsible for large book transfers and managing the day to day relationship with our brokers and stakeholders both internal and external.I also delivered a vast number of training sessions internal and external which included underwriting training and product training along with training off shore in India.
