    • Green Party of England and Wales

      Jan 2015 - May 2015
      Press Officer & Events Coordinator

Fulfilled a number of roles in the Party’s Council, Parliamentary and National campaigns during the 2015 General Election (with focus on national target constituency Bristol West):As Press Officer, I liaised with and fielded intense and often hostile media interest, cultivated strong press links and maintained positive and high profile coverage for the campaign. I briefed and supported the candidate prior to and during press events, photo-ops and hustings and oversaw proactive and reactive public relations activities, mitigating reputational risks and dealing with campaign crises as they arose. As Events Coordinator, I oversaw an innovative and diverse campaign programme of events that included photo-ops, a series of talks, youth and student events, volunteering events, arts events and rallies. Stakeholder engagement was critical, and I developed relationships and engaged with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, including community projects, voluntary organisations and businesses. We returned the largest upswing (23%) in Bristol’s electoral history, the second largest upswing in the electoral history of England and Wales and 8 additional Councillors. Show less
