      Design Engineer

      Project Engineer responsible for the Electrical elements of an Avionics upgrade of two WB-57F atmospheric research aircraft operated by NASA. Systems installation include: Flight Management System, Dual VHF Navigation, Distance Measuring Equipment, TACAN, Automatic Direction Finder, Dual VHF Communication, UHF Communication, HF Communication, Radio Management System, Dual ATC Transponders, TCAS, Weather Radar, Electrical Systems Upgrade, and Lighting Systems Upgrade. Also responsible for updating the aircraft Technical Manuals, including conversion to digital format. Principle Engineer responsible for completion of Air National Guard Modernization Program. Activities included review, correction, and delivery of all publications, technical manuals, and data package to end customer. Acting mechanical engineer in support of Secure Voice installation on B-52 aircraft. Primary engineering support for installation of Night Vision Equipment/Lighting Modification on helicopters for Taiwan Police Dept. Supported business development activities for the engineering area. Responsible for estimating electrical and mechanical engineering man-hour requirements, preliminary design, material costs, schedule, and drafting proposal sections. Responsible for Lighting Systems modification and support of Avionics upgrades on (3) Air National Guard HC-130H aircraft. Provided engineering direction to technicians installing Lighting Modifications and Avionics upgrades. Systems include NVIS lighting, Dual inertial Navigation Units, Digital Air Data, Electronic Flight instruments, TCAS II, Mode Advisory Caution and Warning System, GPS, APX-100 Identification Friend or Foe, and APN-241 Low Power Color Radar System. Supervised joint Samsung/Hazeltine aircraft survey team in Republic of Korea. Responsible for collection of data and preliminary design (mechanical and electrical) relating to the installation of mode 4, Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Cryptographic systems. Show less
