      Aug 2015 - Nov 2016

This position was an exciting opportunity to manage all aspects of the day-to-day running on the Pharmacy. It involved the important core tasks of dispensing medicines and counselling patients on their proper use, and ensuring that this could be done smoothly and effectively by every Pharmacist who worked in the business. This included more complex programs, such as the provision of an Opioid Replacement Therapy program that treated up to 50 patients, compounding several extemporaneous products, and maintaining approximately 60 regular community Webster Paks,During my time in this position, I also had the privilege of being preceptor to an Intern Pharmacist, supporting their learning and successfully guiding them through their last year before general registration. This Pharmacy was joined to the Elmwood Medical Centre and I enjoyed liaising with the local doctors to provide information about medicines, how to navigate the PBS or any other topics that could improve the care that our patients receive.During my time in this position I was also responsible for stock management, managing rosters, regular reporting to the owner, QCPP accreditation, provision, recording and claiming of MedsChecks, Clinical Interventions and other CPA funded programs. Pharmacist Manager

My time in this position has been very exciting, I have been able to see the store grow year after year after year. My goal to grow the professional services has been a success with the addition of a vaccination service, expansion of our community dose administration aids service and streamlining of MedsChecks and Diabetes Medschecks so that they are a standard part of our care. We have recently be able to participate in the PharMIBridge services trial, providing extra advice to people living with severe mental illness. When I was approached about this job, I knew it would come with challenges, but the turnaround that the store has been able to achieve is been remarkable. I am particularly proud of the team that I have built over my time in this position. Every member of staff understands how they contribute to the care that our Pharmacy provides. They are all valued and this creates a positive atmosphere that our customers love to be part of. Show less

    • Creases Origami

      Jan 2017 - now
      Owner & Artist

Like a lot of people, I discovered the ancient Japanese art form known as Origami as a child. I could use it to make the crane, the chatterbox or many other traditional models that I found in books at the school library. Later I discovered the way origami was evolving and the world of international origami artists I could learn from. I love playing with new ideas in origami that make it relevant for today. I’ve recently spent time exploring the techniques used to make origami lamps, masks, brooches and small art pieces that take advantage of origami’s third dimension to make them come alive. The possibilities held in one piece of paper are endless and I always look forward to the smiles they can create. Show less
