      Postdoctoral Researcher (Behavioural Medicine)

      As a postdoctoral researcher, I supported general practitioners and patients to change their behaviours by: - Developing a behavioural intervention to train GPs to support patients who were at risk of cardiovascular disease to adhere to statin medication. - Developing intervention materials, informed by behaviour change theory, for GPs and patients.- Training GPs and practice staff to deliver the behavioural intervention to patients- Designing and managing a randomised controlled trial with supporting qualitative interviews to test the effectiveness of the intervention in changing adherence to medication.- Analysing trial data using R and SPSS- Disseminating trial findings at conferences, in peer- reviewed academic journals and to GP and patient stakeholders.       As a postdoctoral researcher within the Oxford Mindfulness Centre I am responsible for: - Leading a systematic review of moderators and mediators of the effectiveness of structured mindfulness programmes delivered for adolescents. - Conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis of a large longitudinal data set of a randomised controlled trial testing the effectiveness of mindfulness training versus PSHE in UK secondary schools (see www.myriad.org.uk).As a senior trial manager (maternity cover) I am responsible for the day-to-day management of the largest randomised controlled trial of mindfulness training in secondary schools.
