      Investigate growth of wide band gap semiconductors on carbon nanotubes by molecular beam epitaxy, with focus on Gallium Nitride.• Dispersion and deposition of carbon nanotubes over silicon and sapphire substrates and the consecutive growth of gallium nitride.• Development and optimization of a method for obtain large-ordered arrays of carbon nanotubes for the eventual growth of gallium nitride and the development of hybrid structures• Derived of the methods for obtain large-ordered arrays of carbon nanotubes is investigated the mechanisms to the formation of them, giving as result the description of these arrays with liquid crystal theory. • The products obtained by molecular beam epitaxy growth are largely characterized by reflection high energy electron dispersion, photoluminescence and Raman spectroscopy, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy and X-ray diffraction.
