      As an instructor pilot for the Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing Ten (CPRW-10), Evan trains and qualifies pilots progressing to become mission commanders. In the training environment, he utilizes scenario-based teaching techniques to prepare his students for the many challenges presented in combat flying. Furthermore, Evan demonstrates superior leadership qualities as a supervisor for large scale multi-force training exercises which require excellent communication and problem-solving skills.➢ Serve as an aircraft commander and instructor pilot on behalf of the Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing Ten (CPRW-10).➢ Train qualified naval aviators to become aircraft commanders. Emphasis on mission knowledge, operational risk management, crew resource management, aircraft systems knowledge, and scenario based aeronautical decision making.➢ As an instrument evaluator, train and assess pilots on regulatory/weather knowledge and instrument flying procedures. ➢ Evaluate student performance, complete student grade sheets, and make recommendations for future trainings. ➢ Perform operational test flights following maintenance events. Show less In 2018, Evan was competitively selected to serve in the Navy’s Special Projects Patrol Squadron (VPU-2). In this role, he operated as an aircraft commander leading 18+ inflight crewmembers on global combat test/special mission flights. When he wasn’t flying or overseeing one of the squadron’s 44 aircraft maintenance programs, he turned to providing mentorship to his fellow colleagues. Often, he led Career Development Boards and utilized his experience to offer guidance on future educational pathways, and financial decision making.➢ Flew Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) test/special mission flights on behalf of the Special Projects Patrol Squadron (VPU-2).➢ Performed 3 trans-oceanic international aircraft reposition missions and accrued 320+ combat flight hours.➢ Collaborated with Euro Control to gain approval for international flight plans, landing permits, and special clearances.➢ As Quality Assurance Division Officer, standardized 44 maintenance programs supporting 5 Lockheed P-3C Orion aircraft. ➢ Identified insufficient airframe screw tracking procedures. Show less As a T-6B instructor pilot for Training Squadron 6 at Naval Air Station Whiting Field, FL, Evan instructed and evaluated primary flight students in a number of diverse operational settings. Outside of the cockpit, he served as an Aviation Safety Officer (ASO) responsible for the effective maintenance and promotion of the squadron safety management system. Additionally, he served as the primary investigator for all aviation related mishaps, accidents, and incidents.
