      1) CAE Lead for Low-speed Crash Analysis in an electric vehicle development program, managing 3 junior engineers and coordinating with design engineers and material/manufacturing suppliers from different time zones (US, EU and China).2) Involved as Lead CAE Engineer in long term projects consulting US government agency, NationalHighway Transport Safety Administration (NHTSA) for vehicle safety and fuel efficiency rulemakingusing CAE Analysis;a) Counter measure study on NHTSA's 35% offset Oblique Impact (64Mph) on Mid-Size Sedanand Light-Duty Trucks (2014 models) before NHTSA’s rulemaking on introducing the crashtest for 2020/2021.b) Build and simulated full vehicle crash (64 Mph oblique impact) with THOR Dummy and HumanBody Model (GHBMC) to observe the difference in injury numbers between the two occupantmodels. Full CAE model of vehicle and occupants are now available online to public.Presented the work in GHBMC conference in 2018.c) Light-weighting program of a 2014 light-duty pick-up for 2025 Corporate Average FuelEfficiency (CAFÉ) rulemaking, saving 17% mass (400+ kg) of overall vehicle weight whilemaintaining baseline crash and stiffness performance. Project involved reverse engineering of the truck, tearing it down for scanning to cad, build CAE model from scanned cad data, conducting all structural, NVH, crash loadcases and finally validating the CAE results to available crash test data before lightweighting exercise took place.3) Mentored every new engineer/intern to mesh, build and assemble quality CAE models for analysis, saving cost from hiring sub-contractor for model build tasks.4) Developed an automated spotweld modelling method (with failure) for a full vehicle crash model. Each spot-weld mechanical/failure property are specifically defined based on the grade andthickness of the connecting panels. This method is now used for all current in-house projects; EV Startup clients too adopted this method for their full vehicle CAE model Show less
