Headed the ‘Sustainable Cities Project’, which focused on affordable housing & housing policies for building a sustainable city, especially for socio-economically marginalised groups; lent technical and logistical support to campaigns on affordable housing, worker’s rights with the Girni Kamgaar Sangharsh Samiti (Mill Workers Action Committee), a out-of-work textile mill workers union; and led a pilot study on the growth of small & medium size towns in the region of Konkan (Western India).- Participated in the People’s SAARC Assembly 2008 (Colombo); member of organising committee at People’s SAARC Assembly 2010 (New Delhi); organised national level meetings as a part of the Municipal Services Project (MSP); a research project that explores alternatives to the privatization and commercialization of service provision in electricity, health, water and sanitation in Africa, Asia and Latin America; member of Citizens Initiative for Peace, Mumbai, a network of individuals, organisations and mass movements, actively involved on issues related to Peace and Democracy and Human Rights in the city of Mumbai.
