While in Dr. Chon's lab I worked closely with a PhD Candidate, Hugo Posada-Quintero, on three different projects. One was a result of my senior design project described below. This project required frequent use of Matlab for data analysis. Another project I worked on involved heart rate variability and electrodermal activity. Both signals are monitored simultaneously while the subject undergoes three different types of tests (cognitive, emotional, and physical). This data was then processed using Matlab. Lastly, the final project required working closely with FLEXcon. Due to NDA, not much can be said about this project except for the fact that we were exploring EMG activity in subjects. A paper has been published with further detail upon this project (See publication section). Show less This position entails high confidentiality since I meet with fellow UConn Students who are registered with the Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) who would like to use assistive technology to benefit their own education. My colleague and I won the UConn IDEA Grant to perform research in Spring 2015 that helped benefit student note-taking. This position requires many different components and always keeps me busy. I am constantly researching and learning new software, applications, and techniques that may benefit the UConn student population who are registered with CSD. Other projects include website design, starting a CSDTech blog, and creating reports on any assessments of technologies used. Most recently, I have been working on creating a database through Microsoft Access with the Assistive Technology Coordinator at our center that will organize our intake of alternate media book requests from our student population. Research Assistant

For the summer of 2014 I spent 10 weeks working for a Postdoctoral researcher, Bobak Mosadegh, in George Whitesides lab at Harvard University. I was funded by the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering for my time spent in the lab. My responsibilities included conducting experiments from start to finish. I gained valuable experience with cell culture, including passaging of cells and proper techniques of sterilization. Also, electrochemical techniques were involved for measurements. Therefore, use of a potentiostat was necessary. I also had to write many Matlab codes to analyze the data we collected while using electrochemistry. Show less
