      This project (sponsored by the US Embassy and in partnership with the Fulbright ETA Program) incorporated the voices of adolescent girls into Malaysia's Fulbright ETA programming. In Summer 2015, the Kita Kuat Project was able to reach 820+ teen girls through 15 workshops, in partnership with 18 secondary schools, across 6 Malaysian states.Through confidence-building and leadership activities, participants were able to express themselves openly, forge solidarity with their peers and find power in the strength of their combined voices. These workshops facilitated a creative space for young women to share personal narratives, challenge societal assumptions and engage in critical dialogue. Show less
