      Led R&D projects to create, develop and commercialise novel inorganic effect pigments; and develop new scalable processes. Product material types included metal flake-based pigments, mixed metal oxides, glasses and glass ceramics, porous materials.Experience gained in sol-gel, milling, inorganic and organic coating and melt-quench processes. Lean six sigma, 5S and FMEA procedures.

This position, within the University of St Andrews, was focused on the spinning out of a new company from the School of Chemistry - developing products and processes and assisted business development activities to enable the techno-economical evaluation of the materials and creation of an investable business plan. The products, based on Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs), act as multifunctional antimicrobial, wound healing and vasodilation agents, for use in medical devices and wound care products. Show less
