  • Experience

    • University of Oxford

      Oct 2009 - Aug 2013
      DPhil (PhD) in Engineering Science

Fundamental research project on the behaviour of sandy soils under both terrestrial and lunar environmental conditions (i.e. low gravity and UHV) using the Discrete Element Method (DEM). The research focused on finding a link between soil properties measured at the meso- and macroscopic scales. Through extensive numerical modelling, the outcome has been an increased understanding of the critical state mechanical behaviour of granular matters when subject to small confining stresses and in the presence of strong intermolecular adhesive forces.
