  - The WiSE (Women in Science and Engineering) program's goal is to improve the recruitment, retention and success of women in STEM fields because greater diversity produces better science and solutions. - As an ambassador, I am available for undergraduate students at the University at Buffalo majoring or interested in STEM to ask questions or seek guidance about ways to get involved on campus, the WiSE program, or learn more about my STEM major. I also create/participate in WiSE events held throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. Show less - Work under Joan Baizer, Ph.D. in her neuroanatomy lab preparing and analyzing Nissl and immunostained sections through the human brainstem. Tissue has been obtained from the Witelson Normal Brain Collection. Structures to be analyzed include the Superior Olivary Complex and brainstem nuclei related to the vagus nerve, e.g. the nucleus of the solitary tract.- Assist in staining and plating human brain stem slides, preparation of chemical solutions, and analyzing brain stem structures under a microscope.   Emergency Medical Technician

  - The mission of the Sunrise Association is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings worldwide. This mission is accomplished through the creation and oversight of welcoming, inclusive Summer Day Camps, Year-Round Programs, and In-Hospital Recreational Activities, all offered free of charge.- Work as an EMT in the medical triage tent of the camp. Treat children ages 3-18 for both medical and trauma-related instances.
