The philosophy is that building and focusing on women health favorably impacts family and community wellness and strength. The Center offers prevention, educational and direct services. The staff comprises three professionals, 1 paraprofessionals and 8 trained volunteers. IFLC offers labor assistant, childbirth education, male and female support group leadership training programs. Aside from clinical services, mental health counseling and referrals are offered. IFLC also serves as a coordination and referral center for an array of health and human services.       As Associate Professor of Clinical Nursing Practice and Dotson Faculty my main role was to increase the course pass rate and success of ALANA scholars - African, Latina, Native American Students, Prior to the Dotson Program, ALANA students success rate was considerably less than the dominant culture students in the nursing program. We (the faculty) increased and equaled the general student population class, NCLEX, graduating rates in less than three years. In addition I taught Leadership, Maternity, Fundamentals and Test Taking classes. Show less
