    • Sage ATC

      Jan 2013 - now
      Geosciences Business Unit Leader

Guiding the direction of Geoscience projects and personnel to grow business sector through a broad spectrum of clients including chemical plants and refineries. Acting PG on many challenging projects. An example project involved assessment and remediation of a methanol release to the ground. Jim determined that the remaining contaminant was adsorbed in a manmade liner media surrounding the process area and storage tanks. Excavation would have been extremely costly because of where it was, would have likely resulted in shutting down the facility processes, and may have undermined the integrity of the process structures. He negotiated with TCEQ noting that the liner is part of the containment system for the tanks and process area, was man-made and therefore not environmental media. This argument allowed the contaminated media to be controlled under OSHA administrative controls instead of being excavated, which providing a remarkable cost savings to the client. Jim is currently working with ATC Group Services LLC (ATC) for integration of Sage Geosciences within ATC. Show less
