  The Ohio Military Reserve - The Ohio Adjutant General's Department/Ohio National Guard
  The Ohio Military Reserve is a component of the Ohio Adjutant General's Department and the Ohio National Guard serving under the governor as commander in chief and supported and regulated by the Ohio State Legislature. Its primary mission is to provide a fully-manned and mission-ready civil support and sustainment brigade to support the state's Emergency Support Function 6 (mass care) and Emergency Support Function 7 (logistics and resource support) during natural or man-made disasters or other threats to homeland security. In order to accomplish this mission, OHMR units are trained in medical support, volunteer reception and management, shelter management and logistics support in addition to basic soldier skills. Our core competencies are training to National Incident Management System (NIMS), Military Emergency Management Specialist (MEMS), and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) standards.Rank: Captain - Headquarters Commanding Officer (2006-2008). Brigade Assistant S3 Officer in charge of assisting the S3 in the duties of the Brigade Operations Center and Brigade Training (2008 - to completion of assignment in the Ohio Military Reserve).   STEM Accelerated Coding is an educational company that develops active learning products that incorporates physical activity. The company has developed an Active Learning Method based on educational studies that has demonstrated the amount of physical activity needed for an increase in student memory. The CODING curriculum includes blocks of higher-level languages using a plethora of resources. The GEOSPATIAL curriculum includes satellite imagery, Google Earth, and ArcGIS tools. The MAKERSPACE curriculum includes circuits, sensors, robots, cardboard and other IT tools and applications.Provided direction for institutional memory studies that covered schools in the United States and Turkey.Coordinated with executive team on how to conduct research.Advised educators on forming memory studies to include gender, age, ADD/ADHD diagnosis.Conveyed suggestions to extract a pilot study. Provided statistical systems suggestions on how to interpret data. Executive Board Member that provides guidance for institutional research and educational studies, and contracted through STEM for NASA to do impact statistical analysis. Show less

  Most Outstanding Assembly Member Award The Undergraduate Student Government (USG) May 1980 As Greek representative, restored the Greek representation on the University Senate, previously removed by prior student governments. Worked to author a new, updated USG constitution, which passed university-wide by a 3-1 margin.
