  As an entrepreneur in the electrical products industry, my focus was on identifying gaps in the market and providing high-quality products that meet the needs of my target audience. My journey started with extensive market research, including identifying the latest trends, customer preferences, and pricing strategies.After identifying a gap in the market for affordable yet high-quality electrical products, I focused on developing partnerships with manufacturers and suppliers to source products that were innovative, reliable, and cost-effective.Once the product range was ready, I focused on marketing and building brand awareness. I developed a comprehensive marketing strategy that included both online and offline marketing channels, such as social media, email marketing, and events. I also worked on building partnerships and collaborations with industry experts to expand my reach and build my brand.As my business grew, I focused on building a strong team and creating a positive work culture. I developed training programs and professional development opportunities for my team members to help them grow and develop their skills. I also focused on building strong relationships with suppliers and customers to ensure that I could meet their needs and expectations.Throughout my entrepreneurship journey, I have gained valuable skills in market research, product sourcing, marketing, and team management. I have learned to identify opportunities, take risks, and adapt to changing market conditions.   As an SBI Youth for India Fellow, I worked on a project aimed at increasing the income of marginalized farmers and fishermen communities in the coastal area of Tamil Nadu's Muthupet region, which is a Ramsar site. Working in collaboration with the DHAN foundation, I focused on developing an alternate livelihood through floriculture.My work involved mobilizing the community, building relationships with stakeholders, and conducting market research to understand the demand for different types of flowers. I collaborated with various departments, including horticulture and fisheries, to provide training and information on floriculture and financial literacy. Through these efforts, I was able to increase the income of 150 families from INR 1500 to INR 2000 per month.In addition to the floriculture project, I also worked on two other projects. The first involved environmental conservation through mangrove plantation and creek restoration in collaboration with GIZ and the DHAN foundation. The second project focused on training community members to fight climate change through different modes.Overall, my role as an SBI Youth for India Fellow involved liaising with stakeholders, conducting research, and implementing projects to improve the livelihoods of marginalized communities. I developed skills in community mobilization, market research, and collaboration with stakeholders to achieve project goals. My work also helped me to understand the importance of environmental conservation and the role that communities can play in tackling climate change. Show less

In this role, I work with rural entrepreneurs to help diagnose problems, analyze input costs, evaluate profit and turnover, provide guidance on bookkeeping, and create comprehensive business plans. I also help rural entrepreneurs choose suitable marketing strategies and establish market linkages.Analytical Skills: Through my work as a PSREF Fellow, I have developed strong analytical skills that allow me to diagnose problems and provide effective solutions for rural entrepreneurs. I analyze input costs, evaluate profit and turnover, and use data to make informed decisions about financial planning, marketing strategies, and business plans.Financial Management: I have a deep understanding of financial statements and am skilled in bookkeeping, accounting, and creating viable financial plans for rural entrepreneurs. I am able to identify sources of funding and help entrepreneurs manage their finances effectively.Marketing: I am skilled in creating effective marketing plans for rural entrepreneurs, including choosing suitable marketing strategies (such as online or offline) and establishing market linkages.
