  The key deliverable of the two year engagement was to develop and implement the South Australian Government’s Climate Change Strategy 2015-2050: towards a low carbon economy.Other key responsibilities and engagements included:• Preparation of a series of public consultation papers to inform the development of the Climate Change Strategy • Regular reporting to Cabinet and Government Executive Committees on the status of initiatives included in the Climate Change Strategy• Synthesis and interpretation of National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting System (NGERS) data to fulfil legislative reporting requirements and to support the South Australian Government’s Carbon Neutral Adelaide initiative• Coordination and preparation of a whole-of-government submission to the Climate Change Authority’s 2015 Review into Australia’s Climate Policy Options.   Responsible for the development of government policy and provision of expert policy, legislative and management advice to the Minister for Resources, Cabinet and Department Executives relating to the Latrobe Valley lignite (brown coal) mines, the Government's official response to the Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry and potential future alternative low carbon applications for brown coal. Highlights include:• Developing and implementing the Victorian Government’s Statement on Future Uses of Brown Coal • Informing an increase of the rehabilitation bonds held by Latrobe Valley coal mine operators to 100 per cent of independently assessed liabilities via a review of the Rehabilitation Bond Policy applied to Latrobe Valley Coal Mines.
