  CIM²AS supports an undergraduate summer research experience that investigates reasons for the decline of monarch butterflies by testing habitat utilization by monarch butterflies in the Chicago region. Research activities include experimental milkweed plantings and field sampling.

  After performing well in Evolution and being nominated by the professor, was offered to be a Course Mentor. Duties include helping students with the historically challenging course through attending classes, having office hours, guiding study sessions, and meeting with faculty. Assisting students with difficult concepts, research papers, exam preparation, and reviewing homework. Responsible for managing Missouri State’s Biology Department’s greenhouse. Organizing and inventorying four different professors’ lab and care supplies. Maintaining three separate climates and conditions for a variety of plant species. Upkeeping irrigation systems, evaporative cooling systems, and climate control systems. Reporting pest outbreaks, safety concerns, and plant health. We study how pollinator behavior and cognition affects microbial dispersal, and how microbes manipulate pollinator behavior and floral display traits. Project funded by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC).
