  I provided direct care to poly-traumatic patients in accordance with legal, ethical, and institution standards when assigned to a unit. I provided nursing care to patients in the following areas; stabilization unit, recovery room, intensive care, telemetry unit, and palliative unit. Provided nursing care to orthopedics, psychiatric, and geriatrics patients to the highest level of standards and security. Develops nursing assessments for each patient such as planning, implementing, executing, and evaluating nursing care needs. Identify high risk symptoms and behaviors in patients to include, but not limited to, verbal or physical abuse, suicidal or homicidal thoughts, and fall downs. I provided special attention to patients with special needs while communicating and referring patients to specialized personnel. Completed a nutritional screening as part of the initial assessment and refer patients to dietitian for a complete nutritional assessment when necessary, also managed patients with total parenteral nutrition (TPN), and parenteral nutrition (PN). I monitored vital signs, dextrose level, intake, and output of the patients. I monitored vital signs, provided care to the patients with ulcer wounds. Obtained venous access to provide intravenous medication or maintain an open vein. Always provided assessments and educational document of the discharge planning to achieve the rehabilitation on the patient. Show less
