      -Hurricane Ike Emergency Response Blue Roof Mission Internal Review: audited contractor work to ensure proper government payment for blue tarps on roofs in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike. I was instrumental in creating and completing documentation organization for the mission. -Project Engineer in Harlingen, Texas on the Mexican American Boarder Wall. I negotiated cost changes with the contractor. Inspected contractor work for compliance in construction and safety. Completed and submitted contract modifications for district action.-The DA Intern program serves to familiarize new Corps employees by submitting them to eight three month rotations through the different engineering branches in the Galveston District. Assignments included:*Providing calculations for the structural design of docks. *Reviewing Operation and Maintenance Manuals.*Report on the History of Texas Dredging for Dr. Nicholas Krauss. *Field data collection of wind, wave and current data and land surveys.*MicroStation design drawings. *Cost analysis using MII for dredging jobs and conclusion on cost savings. *Ensuring proper construction and safety of a large Army Barracks complex, as a project engineer at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX.       -Created a team and built HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS sensitivity models for design of pumping stations that protect New Orleans from flooding along the Harvey Ship Chanel. -Wrote the Master Water Control Manual for the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal Basin. The manual describes flood protection through design, operation, effects and maintenance of the five sluice and sector gates that act as part of the Hurricane & Storm Damage Risk Reduction System (HSSDRRS) in Southern Louisiana. -Analyzed 3,000 miles of levee overtopping due to wind and surge for the Mississippi River & Tributaries levees using GIS and excel. -Graduated from the Tier II Leadership Development Program. The year long competitive program teaches self-awareness, listening, communication, management, public speaking, team work and other invaluable traits to Army Corps’ leaders. -Emergency Response Liaison to the Baton Rouge Mayor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Response during the 2012 Mississippi High Water Event.
