    • IUOE Local 450

      Oct 2012 - Aug 2016
      Organizer/ Rigging Instructor IUOE Local450

I use social media to connect with others in the industry. It is always great sharing the latest and greatest with fellow craftsman and even the new generation of Operating Engineers. As an Apprenticeship instructor for the Local 450 it is my job to instruct both apprentices and journeyman. We instruct them with updates in the craft and for those just starting we teach them the basics needed to build on for a great career. We offer training in proper rigging techniques, proper hand signals, dynamics involved with equipment operating, hands on training with both simulators and live field exercises. Outside the Apprenticeship I go to Career days at High schools and speak with students about the options they have available to them. I attend as many job fairs as well hoping to find those who seek to find a challenging yet rewarding career in Heavy equipment Operation. I'm active with helping our veterans to gain employment in the craft. I'm in touch with several other agencies who are actively helping Veterans gain employment. Men and Woman of all ages as long as they are High school Graduates or have their GED are encouraged to apply to our Apprenticeship. Show less
