      Terminal Manager

For this role, I supervised and mentored 80+ employees and contractors to enhance performance and ensure operational efficiency. I was trusted to manage $23M+ worthy of inventory for direct customers since this was a national same-day courier company handling time-sensitive material for multiple customers. To cut operational costs, I had to renegotiate various contract terms and conditions with external providers. I also reduced expenses by 28% after analyzing data used in forecasting operational costs and preparing the budget. Additionally, we’re able to increase capacity by 200% after the successful transfer of the terminal and the warehouse to a new location on two separate occasions. Show less

    • Coal Ash Action Coalition

      Aug 2014 - Aug 2017
      President/Founder

After assisting the Dukeville, NC community gain access to emergency water due to well contamination from coal combustion residuals, I founded the Coal Ash Action Coalition to educate and advocate for the community’s need for clean water.Since I had to produce an online petition aimed at raising awareness of the severity of water contamination, I partnered with the NC Conservation Network and we were able to present to NCDENR, the governor, and state legislators. We negotiated well water testing in the area with NCDENR; tests came back positive for heavy metal contaminants and the State was able to advise residents not to drink or cook with the well water. This led to the delivery of emergency bottled water to 312 coal ash residual affected households for four years with Duke Energy ultimately expanding municipal water from Rowan County to the Dukeville area.
