      I am the creator and camp director of the Give and Go Soccer Camp, a camp for children with special needs and disabilities. The camp was incorporated in 2004 and is now run in correspondence with the town of Trumbull recreation department. The focus of the camp is for the campers to learn basic soccer skills while learning teamwork, sportsmanship, and building self-esteem. The camp is a great success in town and highly popular throughout Fairfield County. In creating such a successful camp I had to start from scratch and find techniques that worked. First off, I had to develop a curriculum. Once that was in place I needed a way to create funds for this non profit, completely volunteer program. Intense fund raising and gathering of donations has been keeping the camp going. As camp director I have to recruit outstanding individuals to volunteer and properly staff the camp. Along with making sure the staff is always on their feet I am also constantly surveying the overall program and making sure it runs smooth. Community and media relations is also a big part of my job. Parents always have questions with their children and are always interested in what is going on. Newspapers frequently make their way to the camp for a visit so they can get a few pictures and quotes for their articles. Show less

Working for an Independent League team was a challenge, we did not have a large budget so we had to us guerilla-marketing tactics to promote the team and build a fan base.
