  As a part of the Portfolio Management team, I manage Defined Contribution (DC) and Defined Benefit (DB) retirement funds for the top-tier institutional clients (both local and multinational) at Magnus with assets under advisory amounting to approximately PKR 15 bn. The natures of the funds that I dealt with were both discretionary and non-discretionary. A few most important tasks from my day are as follows:• Portfolio management of retirement funds for institutional clients.• Re-balancing the portfolios in compliance with the Investment Policy Statement (IPS) and investment agreements.• Preparing investment recommendations on a regular and timely basis.• Executing both Fixed Income and Equity trades on behalf of all discretionary clients and ensuring successfulsettlement.• Analyzing and identifying the key reasons for over / under performance of portfolio against the relevant benchmarks.• Liaison with the Investment Committee (IC) in preparing the Investment Policy Statement (IPS) of the portfolios.• Ensuring compliance of the portfolio with the IPS and relevant regulatory SECP laws.• Client relationship management and go an extra mile to assist the client beyond the scope of contemporary activities.
