IEBA has been created to close the education gap through boarding so that all Indigenous students gain an effective education in child-safe and culturally safe learning environments with access to health, wellbeing and mental health services. Our vision is that all Indigenous students attain educational outcomes to be successful in their future choices.

      The Transition Support Unit provides support for families from remote and very remote communities in the Northern Territory to choose secondary schooling options for their children and provide support for these young people to achieve their aspirations throughout their educational journey.With offices in Darwin and Alice Springs, and staff in Nhulunbuy, Katherine and Tennant Creek, the TSU team currently supports over 1,000 students from 65 communities. Over 80% of the TSU team are Aboriginal.As Director, I seek to continue the good work of the TSU and lead the team to build relationships with boarding schools to support students achieve their potential and find pathways to employment, training or further education. The TSU contribution to Closing the Education Gap will see the students of today become proud community leaders of tomorrow. Show less
