      Project Ttitle: Analysis of Air-Side Blockages for theDevelopment of a Condition-BasedMaintenance System on the Class 156and 158 ScotRail Fleet6 month placement with ScotRail to complete my final year project industry. Working at Corkerhill depot, analysing the coolant system on the 156 and 158 fleet to develop an analytical model of the compact heat exchanger. This was then utilised to develop a metric to estimate the percentage of the air side surface area that could be blocked before the engine would return to idle. The placement resulted in contact with G&M radiators, allowing for further knowledge in the design, manufacture and testing of heat exchangers in industry. Placement has resulted in gaining practical knowledge of health, safety, and environmental safeguards in industry. Excellent feedback from ScotRail fleet engineer. Show less
