      • FASTBLADE is a revolutionary project to develop an apparatus to fatigue test tidal turbinerotor blades, for which none currently exists• Working from a basic model already developed by the team, helped to develop andimproved a coupled hydraulic-dynamic model of the system in Matlab/Simulink used togenerate data to submit a proposal for grant funding from the ORE Catapult• Gained extensive insight into renewable engineering sector• Developed valuable presentation skills by presenting work to both project supervisorsand peers at regular intervals throughout the placement• Developed skills at working well in small teams, assisting other members of the teamwith work on a procedural basis Show less

      Joined the Wind and Marine Energy Systems and Structures Centre for Doctoral Training to support my PhD with the University of Edinburgh, and progressed through a number of modules focused on giving a broad overview of the field of Offshore Renewables. On an ongoing basis, I will be engaging with Continuous Professional Development guided by experiences peers and academics within the CDT, while also stepping up as the Secretary of the student-organized Professional Engineer Training Society, where I hope to serve as a a bridge between the management of the CDT and the students, while also ensuring communication processes remain smooth throughout.
