      1-year leadership development program involving the exploration of emotional intelligence and its relationship to effective leadership skills. My leadership project was to develop a Center of Excellence in Breastfeeding Equity to provide breastfeeding education and advocacy to address racial disparities in breastfeeding rates in Orange County, FL.

      • Created a new service line for the Cleveland Clinic pediatric primary care department• Provided ½ day of breastfeeding medicine consult appointments that consisted of the clinical evaluation and management of breastfeeding dyads (adult women and their infants). Conceptualized, designed, and implemented this curriculum for primary care pediatric providers and support staff. The program included monthly Lunch and Learn didactic sessions, as well as quarterly hands-on interactive training workshops.       • Responsible for shared development and ongoing maintenance of a continuity clinic learning experience for a brand-new pediatric residency program. The program started in July 2019 and reached its full complement of 36 residents in July 2021.• Most senior faculty member of only 2 main preceptors & several float “fill-in” junior preceptors. Served as mentor & coach for junior faculty.• Precept up to 4 residents/session for 7 of 8 total sessions per week• Served as acting Continuity Clinic Director during CC Director’s maternity leave (July 1st to October 1st 2022)• Created an initial CC master curriculum schedule for the 2020-2021 academic year. Assist with the development and implementation of an on-going 3-year repeating CC curriculum. The curriculum includes mini-didactic sessions, self-directed modules, hands-on simulations/skills workshops, family-centered bedside teaching, and patient panel management.• Designed an orientation and on-boarding program for new trainees. Process is now utilized annually at the start of each academic year.• Created a CC guidebook that is now updated and included annually as part of the orientation and on-boarding process• Successfully promoted the creation and implementation of a weekly clinic e-newsletter (The CC Chronicles).• Committed 200+ discretionary hours to design and implement standardized Epic® smartsets, note templates and smartphrases to improve patient care as well as resident efficacy and efficiency.• Regularly updated the Epic® templates and smartphrases to reflect current evidence-based guidelines for care.       The Section on Breastfeeding's (SOBr) mission is to equip pediatricians with education, policy and advocacy resources to support optimal breastfeeding practices and environment. AAP Chapter Breastfeeding Coordinators (CBCs) are pediatricians appointed by their AAP Chapter President who work with their state Chapter and in their community on breastfeeding support and promotion. CBCs work hard to make sure that the members of their AAP Chapter are up to date on the latest breastfeeding education and advocacy activities.
