I then became a lead in the Project Team responsible for a Major Accident Control Regulations (MACR) site and two Control of Major Accident Hazard (COMAH) sites including Fawley Oil Refinery.   An experienced emergency planning officer I work closely with multi-agency partners in the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Resilience Forum, supporting planning, risk assessment, training and exercise activities at operational, tactical and strategic levels. Responsible for Business Continuity, I ensure the council is prepared for the unexpected and able to recover quickly from disruption through the development of Business Continuity Plans, Disaster Recovery and regular exercises. A qualified ISO22301 Lead Auditor I can guide an organisation through the process to obtain ISO22301 accreditation and currently support our legal team in gaining their Lexcel accreditation through demonstrating effective Business Continuity Management. I am the Chair of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Authority Business Continuity Group. As lead on Humanitarian Assistance and a trained Family Liaison Officer I am also responsible for the development and management of a team of Family Support Officers, working with families to provide practical and emotional support during bereavement through an emergency. Chair of the HIOW LRF Specialist Capabilities Fuel Shortage Planning Group I am leading on the implementation of a new LRF Fuel Shortage Plan and an LRF Strategic Fuel Sharing Guide. I support the University of Portsmouth's Crisis and Disaster Management MSc through mentoring a student placement. Assisted by the student placement I am delivering a Community Resilience package through presentations, events and exercises preparing the local community for emergencies, in turn lessening the demand on emergency services.
