I was instrumental in crafting posts, analyzing metrics and spearheading social media campaigns.       I have interned at UNDP Somalia, in the Community Security Project under the Department of Governance and Rule of Law, where I reported directly to the then Project Manager, Mr. Daniel Ladoucer. The five month spent at UNDP Somalia not only exposed me to the harsh realities that Somalia faces but further broadened my perspective of international relations, particularly from a practical perspective, as I got to interact with both international and local peacebuilding organization working in the different regions of Somalia. I was in charge of reviewing, editing and summarizing reports, training manuals and publications and also prepared and made a number of presentations in different Somali Peacebuilding. My track record at UNDP Somalia earned me the opportunity to join the Somali Observatory of Conflict and Violence Prevention (OCVP) Knowledge Management and Communications Office on an attachment basis where I have continued to support UNDP Somalia peacebuilding initiatives through managing the Somali Peacebuilding website (www.somalipeacebuilding.org) as well as assisting OCVP review, edit and summarize reports, training manuals and publications.       Three years at the Society for International Development saw me catalyse public interest engagements for knowledge-based dialogue through assertive mass and new multi-media platforms. I designed and managed iterative dialogues and communication media platforms as well as monitored, analysed and circulated information and knowledge related to the implementation of the Constitution of Kenya.My key responsibilities included: 1. Drafting of the Kenya Dialogues Project communications strategy document. The communication strategy has been effective in reaching county and national citizen leaders and policymakers 2. Generating written content by individually writing, commissioning and causing staff to write and powerfully debate on the implementation and realisation of the constitutional promises. These include blogs, monthly newsletters and summary reports;3. Editing, proofreading and publication of all information and research products consistent with Kenya Dialogues Project brand. 4. Monitoring, repackaging and disseminating international news and development information related to the constitutional promises that provide for constitutional learning;5. I conceptualised Kenya Dialogues Project brand and maintained strict compliance with this brand by designing templates for reports, briefs and other communication materials;6. Developing and maintaining a media, government and CSOs contact database. This responsibility has seen me maintain a set of personal contacts and relationships with social and mass media personalities; 7. I designed and have continued to implement the expansion of an integrated knowledge gathering and dialogue web platform. This includes the Kenya Dialogues Project website, Twitter and Facebook platforms;8. I conceptualised the Competition for Amateur Documentary Producers.
