Group Participant: The Black Experience in America (Spring 2019) "misguided mind" performed in the Empowerment March at Salve Regina University (Fall 2019) "misguided mind" performed in Expressions for Empowerment (Spring 2020) "misguided mind" was nominated to attend ACDA Extensions Dance Company is a pre-professional dance company at Salve Regina. As a member, it was required that we included at least one technique course in our academic schedule. I also attended weekly company class, and weekly rehearsals our multiple yearly performances. I attended intensives on weekends to learn choreography from some of the most prestigious jazz and contemporary choreographers within a 2-3 day period for 8 hours a day. As a member, it was required that we included at least one technique course in our academic schedule. I also attended weekly company class, and weekly rehearsals our multiple yearly performances. I attended intensives on weekends to learn choreography from some of the most prestigious jazz and contemporary choreographers within a 2-3 day period for 8 hours a day. I attended weekly rehearsals 3-6 times per week. It was expected of us to show up to rehearsal knowing and remembering the choreography that was taught to us from the week before. My first piece, "misguided mind" started out as a requirement for my Choreography class but turned into a work of art that performed in multiple shows and went on to be nominated to attend the American College Dance Association in March of 2020. In 2020, I choreographed "Reflections." Due to COVID, this piece was unable to perform live, however it was presented virtually. Show less

  Activities and Societies: Dean's List (Fall 2016-Spring 2020) SRU Dance Club Member (Spring 2018-Spring 2020) SRU Dance Club Choreographer [See Dance Minor for more Activities and links] As a member of the SRU Dance Club, it was required that I attend rehearsals every Sunday. I also attended auditions each semester. As a member, I performed in two shows, one at the end of the fall semester and one at the end of the spring semester. From 2018 to 2020, I choreographed 6 dances for the SRU Dance Club performances. As a choreographer, it was my job to teach the choreography to students at a recreational level of dance and go to rehearsal each week prepared with choreography to… Show more As a member of the SRU Dance Club, it was required that I attend rehearsals every Sunday. I also attended auditions each semester. As a member, I performed in two shows, one at the end of the fall semester and one at the end of the spring semester. From 2018 to 2020, I choreographed 6 dances for the SRU Dance Club performances. As a choreographer, it was my job to teach the choreography to students at a recreational level of dance and go to rehearsal each week prepared with choreography to teach my students. I was also responsible for picking out the costuming for each one of my dances. My last dance that was choreographed for the SRU Dance Show in 2020, "Blackout" was left unfinished due to COVID.
