Currently completing my research year in the Physician Scientist Training Program (PSTP). In addition to my coursework and clinical training within the MD program, I am spending a year of protected time performing basic and translational research in the Pittsburgh Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases (PIND).My research focuses on elucidating neuroprotective signaling pathways and utilizing both in vitro and in vivo models to develop neuroprotective therapeutic strategies for stroke and acute cerebral ischemia.
