  Electrical/Mechanical Apprentice

  During my first year as an electrical/mechanical apprentice I was based at Midland Group Training Services (MGTS) being trained on the use of various workshop equipment such as lathes, milling machines, surface grinders and sheet metal machinery. I was also trained on the set up and use of MIG, TIG, MMA and brazing welding techniques. I successfully installed electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits in training booths whilst in this role. My second year was spent in house at Brose where I was trained in the use of Programmable Logic Controllers and various electrical/pneumatic equipment. Show less

  Electrical Technician

  My job role is to carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on sewage pumping stations and treatment works preventing pollution's and flooding as well as carrying out installations of new electrical equipment and repair/replacement of old electrical equipment. During my time at the company I have been widening my skills and knowledge in line with the job role. I have completed all of the company’s mandatory qualifications such as working at heights, manual handling, confined space and use of escape breathing apparatus set, emergency first aid and safe isolation and lifting of submersible pumps, as well as qualifications towards becoming a skilled craftsman, including mechanical multiskilling.
