The DPF lowered particulate matter emissions from 25mg/kWh to 4.5 mg/KWh (82% reduction).-Initiated the use of automation in engine testing, including design of experiment (DOE) techniques, instead of manual testing. This increased testing efficiency by 20% and added 85 extra man-hours per month.-Completed homologation testing of a 3.5L engine within the project timeline, ensuring continued development of the engine for upcoming vehicle models.-Recognized at the Mahindra Hall of Fame for ranking among the top 20 Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs) out of 160 new hires in R&D.   Title: Enhancing the Test Drive Experience at Mahindra & MahindraI recently completed a 2-month summer internship at Mahindra & Mahindra in the General Management division. My project focused on enhancing the test drive experience for customers of Mahindra SUVs.Through primary research including 38 customer interviews and secondary data analysis of 614 datapoints, I identified key pain points in the existing test drive process - unsatisfactory explanation of vehicle features, poor vehicle condition, and fake test drives being punched into the system.To address the issue of unsatisfactory feature explanation, I proposed sharing engaging video content on key features like ADAS and Smart Clean Zone over WhatsApp during the enquiry stage. A 10-day pilot increased enquiry to test drive conversions by 28.9%.To tackle poor vehicle condition, I explored using AI visual inspections before test drives. A 5-day pilot with 10 cars showed promise but needs refinement in distinguishing scratches.To reduce fake test drives, I recommended integrating digital license scanning into the test drive booking flow to validate customer identity.Finally, I researched global best practices around unaccompanied test drives as a potential innovation area.This project gave me hands-on experience in problem analysis, solution design, piloting, and stakeholder management.
