      Began engineering common entry degree in September of 2008. In 2010 selected Computer engineering as a specialty. Graduated in May 2012 with a first class honours in engineering.

      As part of this internship, I was involved in the project "ActiveGraph". The objective of this project was to develop software which would allow the user to access and manipulate a large graph of information without loading it into system memory. Our approach was to store the graph in an apache Cassandra database using the Active Record design pattern. I wrote the software using a combination of the thrift API and C++.

      Research Assistant/Developer

      Worked on the CULTURA project. An FP7 funded project which aimed to improve how digital humanities collections are curated on the web. Primarily worked to develop tools and performed service integration. Also wrote a number of papers and presented at workshops for SIGIR and TPDL.

      Developer

      Developed web service (java) and web client (C#) for the TRANSFoRm project. Service interfaced with an open-rdf Sesame triplestore containing information about various maladies, their respective symptoms and other clinical information.
