    • AMEC Environment & Infrastructure UK Limited

      Sept 2003 - Sept 2007
      Construction Technician

I joined AMEC infrastructure on a four year advanced modern apprenticeship course. Two years were spent moving through the departments with the infrastructure team including planning, procurement, design, estimating, HS&E, site management and site engineering. Being technically minded, site engineering was the discipline I chose to pursue for the final two years of my apprenticeship. I was working on large multi million pound hospitals, colleges, sports stadiums, shopping centres and hotels throughout the northeast of England. During this apprenticeship I studied for two years at Darlington technology college and gained an ONC and then studied at Teesside university for a further two years to gain my HNC in construction management. This was an excellent start to my career and I have benefited from it greatly. Show less
