  As part of the Shell Engineering Scheme I was given the opportunity to attend the Shell site at St Fergus gas terminal for 5 days during the Easter holidays. During these 5 days I was shown around the site and recieved knowledge of the main operation of the site and also understanding of what was going on at each individual process. I was able to see how things which I had learned in theory were carried out in a practical sense.

  As part of the Shell Engineering Scheme I was provided with an opportunity to attend the National Grid site at St Fergus gas terminal for 5 days during the October holidays. I was given the chance to work with each department (mechanical, electircal and instrumentation). I was also allowed to work in the control room for a day.

  I am currently working for Morrisons as I complete my modern apprenticeship as a multi skilled engineer. At work I am building upon my process knowledge working with pnuematic and hydraulic systems. I complete maintenance on both mechanical and electrical equipment/systems, as well as taking part in reactive calls to identify and correct faults which have occurred in the process or equipment. I am constantly working with my senior engineers and engineering team to find ways in which the site process can be improved, as well as finding ways in which we can improve the efficiency of how we operate as a team.
