  SVQ Level 2 modern apprenticeship in Business & administration. Upon completion of this qualification - was then offered a full time contract as part of the head office team, focusing on construction related activity. Responsible for a broad range of administrative duties. My time at McKean's was essential for learning the construction industry and making contacts across this platform.

  Started as an administrator in early 2018, focusing on asbestos related activity. Quickly began assisting with on-site survey works & moved to a trainee/assistant surveyor role, training under our senior consultants on a variety of asbestos surveys; including ministry of defence, education and nautical infrastructure (on shore). After obtaining P402, responsible for a wide range of asbestos survey requirements – frequent travel throughout the UK/internationally to commercial & industrial sites. Worked as part of a small team to lead Scottish projects through from enquiry to reporting stage. Latterly – promoted to an Estimator role: used accumulative technical experience/skills/qualifications to prepare tenders and write bids for asbestos services (client facing). Completed P405 certification. Although mainly operating in an Asbestos Consultant role over the course of 5 years, was lucky enough to work on a variety of sites and projects as part of the greater RSK Group: assisted with geo-environmental works (bore holing, environmental monitoring/sampling etc), environmental incident response (spill response, including “on call” 24 hour response rota), hydrology projects (peat probing/land surveying), ecology (bat surveys). Extremely grateful to RSK for the wealth of experience gained in my time with the company, not only in the asbestos industry but in the wider environmental suite. Show less

  Using industry learned experience to deliver & manage vital work streams as part of the distribution license. Ensuring that substation environments are safe from the risks of asbestos and fire by managing survey works; analysing subsequent reports; implementing remedial strategies within approved budgets. EN6 (Senior Engineer Grade).
