      Jun 2012 - Dec 2020
Recipe developer, food blogger and nutritional chef

I created a blog and Instagram platform to express my love for food photography, gastronomy, health, nutrition, exercise, balance and travel. On my platforms, I shared articles and recipes with nutritional information to educate the public about nutrition, health and gastronomy. It was important for me to share scientifically sound information to reduce nutritional misinformation and fads. As part of my job as a nutritionist and recipe developer, I also collaborated with several companies, creating recipes or other content about the nutritional background and health benefits of the products and sharing them with my readers. These recipes and articles are then published on my Instagram, on Mealz.com, where I was an in-house recipe developer and were used by the companies themselves. Show less

      Jun 2016 - Jul 2016
      Nutritionist

After the 1st year of university, I wanted to gain some experience working in the public health sector in England. I approached a local junction of the nationally recognized Food Bank, the Oasis Project, that operates to provide people with long lasting food products from different, difficult background. As part of the voluntary team, I helped to organize the incoming donations and help to create packages according to the personal preferences of the clients of Oasis Project. During my time here, I also gave nutritional advice to the clients, and suggested different options, on how they can make the most of what was donated to them- paying attention to health, nutritional value and price as well. I also created a booklet with simple, easy to understand nutritional and dietary advice, based on the national reference nutrient intakes, health eating advice from the NHS, published advice from Public Health England and the Eat Well Plate. I found this experience really useful, I gained a deeper understanding on nutrition misinformation, lack of knowledge of nutritional or cookery skills within the public of the UK and also an understanding of barrier and enables to change this, adjusted to socio-economic background and financial resources. Nutrition research assistant

As part of the university's summer research scholarship, my application was one of the 15 winners, who could carry out research in different fields within biomedical healthcare science. My research focused on the unique EarlyBird study. The EarlyBird study is a longitudinal study focusing on children's diet using EPIC FFQs and other data, such as socioeconomic data, blood composition, body composition and parents' diet. The data was collected every year up until 2010, then there was a 5 year gap. In 2015, the now adult subjects have been asked to fill out the FFQs and provide other data again, this time done by themselves, instead of the parents. My job was to input all the EPIC questionnaires into a diet analyzer program called FETA, then analyze the data using SPSS. I focused on total energy intake and macro nutrients, with specific attention to carbohydrates and sugars, in relation with body weight. body composition, blood composition and risk of chronic disease such as T2DM, IR and CVD.
