  Working across the north west I was an integral part of a groundworks/drainage team.We undertook various projects including installation of deep drainage, extensions of large building including Stockport's hospital.Driving plant and working under pressure to deliver the team was highly regarded for the end product that we delivered.

  This project was a joint venture that built a new road from Stockport to Manchester airport.The length of the road is 10km and includes over 18 new structures.I began on this project on the construction of the biggest single spanning bridge that Network rail have. We built the bridge out of situ, excavated the old railway and embankment out, then lifted and slid the new bridge into place.I had my part to play in the construction of 16 of the structures, from tying the steel, pouring concrete, snagging and finishing the final product.Once the structures were coming to an end I was then assigned the role of footpath installation, I was responsible for organising muck away, materials being delivered and assigning the operations teams tasks. My Roles and tasks on this project were:Managing and supervising teams Slinger / Signaller, slinging bridge beams and assorted items using mobile cranes.Liaising with the project manager regarding the schedule Organising the operatives, briefing them on the task in handAdministering tool box talks Organising appropriate training for site personnel Identifying and sourcing the correct plant and tools for the jobSteel fixing the cages ready for concrete Groundworks including excavating allocated sitesPouring the concrete for the abutments Pouring the bridge bridge decks Ensuring that the men work safely and efficientlyIdentifying and rectifying snagsCompleting accurate timesheets.
