  I had a mandate to reform the State TV newsroom into a public service. My team and I pioneered a collaboration with the BBC WS Training Trust who offered training and consultancy. As a result, the flagship evening news show topped the trust polls, while the main weekly current affairs show '7 Days in Romania' peaked at 9 million viewers.

  Presenter/producer/editor/correspondent for BBC News Romania. Besides producing and presenting daily news and current affairs programmes, I produced and presented factual documentaries for BBC Romania and BBC World Service - a few titles: "The History of HIV/AIDS in Romania" (part of the BBC AIDS Season); "Chinese Textile Competition in Europe" (part of "China's World" BBC WS Season); "The Carnivore Trail" (funded under the BBC WS Documentary Bursary Scheme); "SOS Architecture" (a four part series about the destruction of vernacular architecture in Romania); 7 part "EU's new joiners" series about the impact of the first wave of extension towards Central and Eastern Europe; "Fighting dictatorship in Argentina and Romania".   The Lifeboat Project was a media initiative created in collaboration with two independent new media filmmakers based in Amsterdam, NL. In the first stage of the project we created a web documentary project dealing with stigma surrounding families affected by HIV/AIDS in Europe. We worked at grassroots level, often directly with marginalised and hard-to-reach communities, in both Eastern and Western Europe. We used a participatory model of media making, where participants had an active role in the storytelling. In Phase 2 of the Lifeboat project we filmed the #stigmameltdown series of candid conversations between people living with hiv. Films from both projects have been used by the Maastricht University / Netherlands for ground breaking research on hiv stigma. The main purpose of this research is to demonstrate that films can reduce the gut fear response towards hiv. Results have been published in Autumn 2016.   One year contract as the first commissioner of joint training for the BBC Global News and Newsgathering international staff. As the first holder of this role I shaped it from its original function of training coordination to its current one of deeper integration between BBC Newsgathering and BBC World Service Languages through joint training, shared skills and knowledge and creation of new workflows and opportunities for collaboration.

  In this role I successfully managed the shift from radio training to multimedia training at the BBC College of Journalism International. I led a team of four journalism and production trainers to design and deliver the first digital curriculum, skilling up BBC World Service staff to implement new multimedia workflows and outputs. I reported to the Head of the BBC College of Journalism International.

  My role was created in 2021 to develop and implement BBC Media Action’s first digital transformation strategy. I build on my previous work, having laid the foundations for digital adoption across the organisation, by preparing BBC Media Action teams for a fast-changing media environment where even the most remote and vulnerable audiences will eventually have access to the internet (currently 25% of the global population doesn't). My overarching goal is for BBC Media Action to fully embrace digital technologies to deliver high-impact work and to identify innovative and appropriate use of these technologies to serve audiences and partners in the Global South. We support media and communication efforts that strengthen governance, improve people’s health, increase their resilience and improve humanitarian response.I design and implement digital, editorial and media development strategies for BBC Media Action projects and media partners in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Africa and Asia. In 2019 I co-authored the first BBC Media Action Digital Transformation Strategy, leaning on the expertise I gained in 10 years of providing strategic digital consultancy and training to project teams to create digital content that leads to growth, engagement and impact. For the BBC Media Action digital transformation strategy, I developed the chapters on digital innovation and content creation, adoption of new technologies and creating a learning culture that puts digital at the centre of media development strategies and staff development. Since 2011 I firmly led on digital adoption at BBC Media Action – rolling out multi-disciplinary digital training and providing consultancy on leading with data on content creation and designing impactful digital strategies. The teams I trained in Sierra Leone and Nigeria won the African Digital Award for best engagement on Facebook in 2017, and 2019 respectively. I Exec Produce programmes from concept development to production and editorial sign off. I organise and facilitate creative workshops for large groups of participants e.g. I brought together in Nairobi/Kenya 30 delegates from 15 countries on three continents.
