Implemented a $90,000 National Endowment for the Arts grant program in rural arts agency development. Administered a comprehensive program of technical assistance, a $42,000 regrant program, consulting, workshops, conferences, and the production of two technical assistance manuals in organizational development.       The Erlanger Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a public library with a direct service population of approximately 90,000 in a three-branch county library system serving 150,000 - branch-specific annual circulation of 1.2M items, 500,000 visitors and a staff of 60 (44 FTE). Duties include: Organize branch services, hire, train, develop and evaluate branch staff. Work as part of administrative management team in planning and policy setting for the library system. Work with Collection Development department to select and manage branch collection. Develop and monitor branch budget (approximately $3.8M of $11.5M system budget). Oversee exterior and interior maintenance of the branch facility. Certified as a Professional Level I Librarian by the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives.Key Accomplishments:-- Administrated system-wide community-based strategic planning process complete in May 2010. Charged with implementation of that plan in FY 2010-11.-- Instituted a team-based approach to management and supervision.-- Established close working relationships with local government, schools and nonprofit agencies and represent the library in numerous community projects including Erlanger's City Platform, "Step Forward Erlanger," "ConnectErlanger," and the Heritage Mosaic Project.-- Produced the Northern Kentucky Storytelling Festival held on library grounds in 2006-2008. Secured more than $40,000 in private funding to support programming for Festival.-- As part of a four-person team, constructed and executed a 12 hour system-wide customer service training program for more than 200 staff members.       The Central Library Director is responsible for directing and overseeing daily operations of this 125,000 sq. ft. main library for this library system consistently rated among the top ten libraries in the US in all indices, serving a population of 735,000. Branch-specific annual circulation of 1.6M, 500,000 visitors, holding 900,000 volumes. Serve as a member of the library’s Executive Leadership Team and Executive Management Team to set strategic priorities, provide guidance and leadership to supervisors and managers and translate community needs into a focus for programs and services. Directly supervise a seven member Central management team and indirectly 170 public service and administrative support employees at Central Library. Supervise the development and administration of Central Library’s budget (approximately $19M of $56M system budget). Responsible for assessing long-term library service needs of the community and engaging the community in Central Library’s vision; and researching, developing and recommending strategies and programs to meet those needs. While focusing on the development of internal management functions and service initiatives, also consults with individual libraries throughout the county and region, interacts with regional and state library organizations and other related community and civic associations.
