Fielded questions by participants after research presentation concludedDirected survey construction & supervised survey administration to 4 target high schools in West Contra Costa Unified School District Cleaned/manipulated data and created visualizations using R programming and Microsoft Excel data tablesManaged the construction of the formal report that was shared with UC Berkeley admissions and West Contra Costa Unified School District stakeholders by May 2021. Performed all final edits with faculty sponsor Dr. Harding. Submitted paper for publication by UC Berkeley student research brief Show less In our research, Dr. Stephanie Child and I expanded the understanding of relationships between caregivers and their child(ren). Using multivariate regression models, we examined the association between adverse childhood experiences and adult personal networks, showing how adverse events experienced at a young age and are associated with the types, quality, and perceived support of adult relationships. Our findings supported our hypothesis, which stated that adult personal networks act as a pathway for adult health.I presented our findings with favorable receptions at both the 2020 Annual Advancing Diversity in Research Summit and the 2020 Gerontological Society of America Annual Scientific Meeting. During these presentations, I highlighted the consequences of childhood adversity on adult support systems. Show less
