Show less Managed the quick, safe, and efficient dispensing of prescription medications for the hospital main outpatient pharmacy. Instituted customer service training and process improvements that streamlined the turnaround of patient prescriptions resulting in improved customer service by 66% and reduce patient wait times by 26%.Lead a multi-service Lean Six Sigma team to reduce the number of medications being out of stock in an isolated overseas facility. The project achieved a 66% reduction in the number of medications out of stock which projected a $541,000 cost avoidance in pharmacy expenditures and led to the annual Department of Defense Quality and Patient Safety award for 2015.Managed a $489,000 inventory of narcotics and controlled substances and ensured 100% accountability of controlled substances throughout the hospital and six clinics. Additionally, coordinated and ran six Medication Take Back events pertaining to setting up volunteers and advertising the event resulting in reducing the amount of used or unwanted medications available for diversion and medication misuse.
